Details: ReThink Recruitment Birmingham are putting everything on the line for a week-long bike ride raising money for BPositive.  We are stationing a bike in the office and will have one of our 15 strong team pedalling at all times between 8am and 6pm, so we’ve got a 50 hour bike ride ahead of us, padded shorts, sudocream and ice packs all round!

Jonjo Rooney, Bpositive’s founder and Chairman came in to tell us his story and to help us understand what raising our £3,000 would mean for BPositive as a relatively new charity.  It was inspiring to hear and has galvanised the team to match his 500 mile bike ride to Hamelin, the home town of his donor, which he is undertaking the week before.   Good luck Jonjo!

Our ride will start on the 15th September and will last 5 days from 8am until 6pm every day we will have one of the team, be it our COO, MD, Regional Manager or any of the team, the pedals will be turning for 10 hours solid every day that week.  The ride ends at 6pm on Friday 19th September and we are hoping to raise £3,000 for a brilliant cause and cycle over the 500 miles to Hamelin from our Central Birmingham office.  We won’t have as many hills to climb as Jonjo and we’ll be doing our best to beat that 500 mile mark as quickly as we can!  The more money and the more miles the better!

We have chosen BPositive as our chosen charity for 2014 as it is a charity that is relevant for so many of our team here, not just through Jonjo being a personal friend of one of the guys,  but through so many of our teams lives being effected by leukaemia, be it family members or friends who have suffered or are suffering from the disease now.  Many of us have lived through the devastating effect the disease can have and just how low people can get when suffering.  The support offered by Bpositive is invaluable in helping sufferers understand their situation, what they are going through and to give them hope.  After speaking to Jonjo and making the ReThink team aware of the work that Bpositive do, it was unanimous that we should support this great cause and we have already connected people to Bpositive for them to feel the benefits of the support offered.
